How much does it cost to install central air with existing ductwork?

Installing central air with existing ductwork is priced after an in-home assessment because the total cost depends on the equipment and your home’s needs. Most of the price comes from the unit’s size (capacity) and efficiency rating, which affect both purchase price and energy use. Other variables include any prep work and how well your existing ducts match the airflow the new system needs; in many homes, improving return airflow prevents oversizing, which can save on equipment cost. We regularly install systems in homes around East Aurora, and most installations take about a day. Current offers include $100 off the purchase of a new air conditioner; coupon must be presented and can’t be combined with other offers.

If you’re comparing quotes, look for these cost drivers:

• Duct condition or modifications to meet airflow
• Electrical upgrades, line set, pad, or condenser location
• Thermostat or air handler compatibility and setup
• Accessories (air cleaner, humidifier) and disposal of the old system
